Bull City Recording Artist Drops Newest Hip Hop Single ‘Jesus Piece’

DURHAM, NC (September 10, 2017) – Hip-hop fans are in for an exciting treat following the release of a new single from Durham-based recording artist and music producer, Demiah.

The new single, Jesus Piece, is a thought provoking song that refers to the actual pendant worn by many people of Christian belief and made popular by hip hop artists such as the late Notorious B.I.G. The single is launched with a solemn and eerie introduction that immediately captures the listener’s interest. Over the slow hypnotic tempo, Demiah shows off his lyrical prowess while embodying the symbolisms of the most iconic piece of jewellery in Hip Hop fashion. Listening pleasure is heightened in the hook with the creative inclusion of a classic interview of Pimp C (from the group UGK) giving his take on the state of hip hop culture.

Questioned about the motivation to produce this single, Wells explained: “Growing up, I would always see the pendant worn by Hip Hop artists, drug dealers or criminals in my home town. Hip Hop, Spirituality, Drugs and gun violence are all connected cohesively by this one pendant in my eyes and served as a direct representation or symbol of my upbringing and development.”

Jesus Piece was produced by Mantra and released through Wells Light – the artist’s own music label. The single is the forerunner to his first recording artist and production project scheduled to be released in Winter 2017.

Jesus Piece is available on all major music streaming platforms including Spotify, Tidal, Sound Cloud and Bandcamp.
